What is HolderWide?
In the desert, HolderWide is synonymous with going full throttle. In life, HolderWide means giving life all that you’ve got…
Blake & Jake lived their short lives with the HolderWide attitude. Their adventurous spirits were contagious and they lived life to the fullest.

Our Story
On the evening of November 7th, 2018, an unspeakable act of evil took 12 precious lives in a shooting at Borderline Bar and Grill located in Thousand Oaks, California. Blake Dingman & Jake Dunham, both age 21, were among those killed that night. These two young men had an incredible zest for life and loved the adventure of off-roading and time spent with friends and family.
In the days that followed the shooting, a group of the boy’s closest friends set out to honor them by creating a beautiful memorial on a hill overlooking Blake & Jake’s favorite camping spot at Spangler Hills in Ridgecrest, California. This close-knit group of friends had spent many years there camping, riding, and enjoying all the adventure that being in the desert has to offer.

Memorial Dedication
On November 24th, 2018, a mere 2-1/2 weeks after the shooting, these young men installed two memorial benches along with a stainless-steel monument of the boys’ trucks. Hundreds of people poured onto the hillside that day to dedicate the memorial in the boy’s honor. Word of the memorial has spread throughout the off-road community, and friends and strangers alike have come to honor the boys and write notes in the memory book.
HolderWide Ride
Each year, family and friends of Blake & Jake have come to "Dirt Diggers", Spangler Hills on the anniversary of the tragedy to remember their two friends and participate in a desert ride in their honor. In 2021, the Blake Dingman & Jake Dunham HolderWide Foundation was formed with the determination that this tragic event would not let evil win but would “Overcome evil with good” by helping others. Both boys were the first to answer the call at any hour from a friend needing help. The HolderWide Ride is our way of continuing to answer that call. Funds collected each year through the ride benefit chosen individuals in Southern California who have sustained catastrophic, life altering injuries while enjoying the off-road adventures these boys lived for.
We ask for your support as we “Overcome evil with good”, in honor of Blake and Jake.
